AN ODE TO VIOLENCE

Against all enemies, foreign and domestic...

Violence, for reasons unknown, has never found resonance or acceptance with humankind, except with the exceptionally twisted. Idyllic, romantic love for humanity, on the other hand, is touted as some sort of panacea for the world’s ills. If you ask me, this kind of love is over rated and feeds off the souls of men, much like an overpaid employee who wont work.

The reason why there is so much of violence in our world is simply because that is our true nature. Humans rose to the top of the food chain not by writing love hymns to humanity. I am not an expert in anthropology but I understand our meteoric rise to the top-dog position had everything to do with being able to outwit, outsmart and club the competition to death.

Our continued dominance depends upon our ability to systematically refine our methods of perpetrating violence at exponentially larger scales. We need to be able to project the capability of visiting extreme violence at the doorstep of our enemies. You can only truly love if you are prepared to do violence on behalf of those who cannot. The rest are freeloaders, hiding behind ineffectual romantic gibberish. They live in a false world which will not survive its first contact with reality. For the real world is ugly. It consistently seeks to diminish us as people. When confronted, violence should be our first choice of response, sudden and savage.

For those of us who have chosen violence as our calling and are still alive, you may rest easy. You have fought the good fight. You have finished the race. You have kept the faith.

And for those who died, may you forever sing and drink in Valhalla. We will tell your stories, the stories of those who walked on fire and could see in the dark.

The rest of you I leave to St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes.
